Our Process
Our team works with our client to create a custom curbing design that aligns with the client's requirements and the landscape's layout. This includes selecting the curb style, color, and any decorative elements.
Before installation, the area where the curbing will be placed needs to be prepared. This may involve removing existing vegetation, rocks, debris, or old curbing, if applicable. The curbing design is marked on the ground to ensure accurate installation.
A narrow trench is excavated along the marked lines to accommodate the curbing material. The depth and width of the trench depend on the type and size of the chose curbing.
A layer of compacted gravel or sand might be added to create a stable base for the curbing. The curbing material is mixed on-site and hand shoveled into our curbing machine extruded into the trench.
The surface of the curbing is finished and textured to achieve the desired appearance. This is may include stamping patterns, creating a smooth finish, or adding texture for a stone or brick-like appearance. In addition, control joints are cut to minimize cracking. This is troweled delicately by hand to ensure that your curbing is level and smooth.
The final step of the process is the clean up and sealing. The site is cleaned, and any access material or debris is removed. A sealer is applied to the curbing surface to enhance its longevity, protect against staining, and enrich the color.
